BASIC SEARCH AND RESCUE

Course Overview

Most of the cases happening during the fire incident especially building structure were involving occupants at most likely will affected the evacuation and the exit route due to blight trapped smoke. Thus, the risk of trapped of occupants is very high especially high-rise building with partition structure type. Another factor will be feeling nervous and anxiety during that frightening scene .Chaotic situation is critical issue that need to be bear in mind.

From the most of cases, the deployment of Search and Rescue team (SAR) should be as soon as the head count has loss detected. The search and rescue operation is one of the intensive procedures that need precisely to look out before allowing the response team to entering the building. Obviously, the danger and risk is highly factors that need to be considered and concern as this job and task is highly risky. As the Search and Rescue Team (SAR), the decision to approaching the casualties into the scene area need to be made immediately yet the skills and technique is one of another thing to be familiar with. Hence, this Basic Search and Rescue course is suitable to engage the attendee regarding the basic of search and rescue technique as well as to be familiar with a few items of rescue equipment and more. Using breathing protective equipment such as Breathing Apparatus might be the important skill to perform while operation.

Course Objective

The main objectives of a search and rescue team are to:-

  • To save lives and rescue the survivors trapped under the debris, from the damaged buildings or from any emergency related with buildings in fire.
  • Provide casualty handling services to the trapped survivors and to dispatch them for a medical care.
  • To ensure rescue procedure being implemented and the process can be done effectively.

  • OSH Practitioners: SHO, OHD, OHN, IHT, CHRA
  • First Aid Team
  • Fire Fighting Team

Entry Requirements

  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Experience being an ERT is an advantage and highly recommended

Training Approach and Methodologies

A good blend of Theory and Practical Session which is at least half of the time the participants will be on the run. With the help of multimedia presentation e.g. slides show, video clips and lively and humor presentation from our trainers, participants are guaranteed a fun, refreshing yet informative training experience.

Sufficient practical material for each and every participant make sure every of them have a hands on experience to acquire the skills needed to perform the life saving task.

Certification

Having completed and passed the course, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Competency.

Validity

Certificate of Training is valid for 3 years from the date of training. Without retraining, knowledge might be forgotten while skills may deteriorate rapidly when not being used / practiced. Therefore, every 3 years retraining is very much recommended.
